Grazer Kapellknaben Austria
The Grazer Kapellknaben choir is a fairly recently formed boys choir in South East Austria in the Styria region (Steiermark in German). Despite being a new-ish choir they are pretty active. They enter competitions, perform loads of concerts and tour on a regular basis. They have recently been to Hungary and to the Ukraine.
They also often provide boys from the choir for opera performances and theatrical productions
These three below are appearing in a performance of the Magic Flute (there is another post on the Tolz Boys Choir with a video of the section that they are performing) Click here for a look The Graz boys are actually in costume (a bit odd for Mozart granted - and don't you just LOVE the mustaches!) whereas the Tolz Boys are just in a concert performance.
Here they are off on tour
In Greece
and the Ukraine
and one of the Host Families in the Ukraine
When they aren't busy rehearsing, giving concerts and touring they do get time off for good behaviour and have a bit of fun

Great post - beaut pics. Love anything Austrian [was born there and migrated to Australia at a young age - been back to visit a few times loved it - got to see the "Motzarts Boy Choir" - Super. Just a quick mention on your post of the Australian Boys Choir - you have a great sense of humour, I agree the costumes are definately different, it probably has something to do with how isolated Australia was before modern travel and the internet.
ReplyDeleteKindest regards Stef
I found it James ! ha ha !
ReplyDeleteYes, nice pics for sure.
But what is that wooden thing with the water in it that the boys are playing in ? Can`t figure
that out ?
And let me ask you on here as I`m sure many of your readers would like too know; When are you going to post some more of YOUR voice on here ?
The wooden thing is called a Stintflut which I think means flood water but it looks a bit like a Mill Race to me taking the water off to the river
ReplyDeleteThanks Southern (Stef) - I have just done a post on the Mozart Boys' Choir for you. Hope you like it
